FAQs

Bras for backless dresses and low-back blouses. The right option depends on how low the back goes. This edit covers all of them: low-back multiway bras, stick-on silicone bras, breast lift cups, boob tape, nipple covers and clear straps, from brands like Reframe, Pinq Polka, Tilt and Maroon.

Match it to your neckline. Back dips to mid-back: a low-back multiway bra converts its straps to sit below the opening and still gives real support. Fully open back: stick-on cups or boob tape, which have no band at all. Sheer or fitted fabric: add nipple covers for a smooth finish. Want a little lift with nothing showing? Lift tape does the shaping that a band normally would.

Every piece is picked fit first, from brands we'd wear ourselves. Stick-on styles grip best on clean, dry skin — skip body lotion before you put them on.

For a low but not fully open back, a low-back multiway bra. For a completely open back, a stick-on (adhesive) bra, breast lift cups or boob tape, since they have no band or straps.

They give the least support of any option. For a fuller bust, boob tape usually lifts better than adhesive cups, or choose a low-back bra if the neckline allows it.

Most hold for an evening on clean, dry skin. Heat, sweat and oils weaken the grip, so avoid lotion beforehand and pack nipple covers as a backup for long events.

Use tape made for skin, do a small patch test first, and peel it off slowly with oil or warm water. Don't wear it on irritated or broken skin.
