FAQs

What to wear under a halter neck. Halter and one-shoulder tops leave the shoulders, the upper back and often the sides open, so regular straps and bands show. This edit has three ways around that: multiway bras whose straps convert to a halter, stick-on breast cups and lift tape for open sides and backs, and nipple covers for thin fabrics.

Pick by coverage. Halter with a closed back: a multiway strapless bra, such as Krvvy's Multi-Way or Oh So U's Lift Strapless, worn with the straps crossed behind your neck. Halter with an open back or deep sides: Pinq Polka's breast cups, Reframe's Lift-It cups, or Tilt's boob tape. Starting out? Shop the Edit's starter kits pair lift tape with nipple covers, so you can try both.

Only if the back is closed and your bra has detachable straps you can re-clip as a halter. Otherwise the straps and band will show — a multiway or stick-on style is the safer choice.

Cups are pre-shaped silicone or fabric cups that stick on and give coverage. Tape is cut to fit and lifts and holds the bust. Tape gives more lift, cups are quicker to put on.

A multiway bra worn halter-style supports as well as a regular bra, because the band still does the work. Stick-on options are best for lighter support.

Choose ultra-thin silicone covers in a shade close to your skin tone, and press the edges flat once they're on.
